How to judge a cigar

Construction - To get the proper draw you will want to check well is the cigar was made? Feel along the cigar from end to end. Are there soft or hard spots throught it? How does it feel to the touch? Is it consistent all the way through?

Condition - A dry cigar will burn fast, hot, and can taste unpleasant. A damp cigar will be difficult to light as well as hard to draw. Cigars should be well conditioned before smoking. Cigars should age for months to several years at the proper temperature and humidity.

Flavor and Complexity - How do you feel while smoking the cigar? How does it taste taste? Does the cigar build in flavor, taste, and complexity as it burns? Or is it consistant all the way through? Do you feel calm or relaxed after finishing it?

Get the Most Out of Your Cigars and Try Something New

• Never inhale cigar smoke when puffing and keep the smoke in your mouth for a short length of time.

• Experiment with new sizes and flavors. There are so many different types out there, you should renew and refresh your palatte with something a little different once in a while.

• Never use paper matches to light your cigar. Wooden matches are preferred, but make sure the sulfur is burned off before holding up to the cigar. For Best Results use a butane lighter.

• Do not store your cigars in the refrigerator, it will dry them out.

• Throw away partially smoked cigars, you do not have to save a half smoked cigar and never put them in your humidor.

• To really enjoy your cigar smoking experience, choose the right drink to go with your carefully chosen indulgence. Try some strong-flavored drinks to enhance the flavor of your cigar, such as scotch, port wine, and Kahlua drinks.

• Biting the tip off a premium cigar should never be dont. Use a sharp cigar cutter.

• Snuffing your cigar out emittes a horrible smell. When you are finished with your cigar, let it burn itself out in the ashtray.
