How to judge a cigar
Construction - To get the proper draw you will want to check well is the
cigar was made? Feel along the cigar from end to end. Are there soft or hard
spots throught it? How does it feel to the touch? Is it consistent all the way
through?
Condition - A dry cigar will burn fast, hot, and can taste unpleasant. A
damp cigar will be difficult to light as well as hard to draw. Cigars should be
well conditioned before smoking. Cigars should age for months to several years
at the proper temperature and humidity.
Flavor and Complexity - How do you feel while smoking the cigar? How does
it taste taste? Does the cigar build in flavor, taste, and complexity as it
burns? Or is it consistant all the way through? Do you feel calm or relaxed
after finishing it?
